Stop by from Orange County surprised that this spot only has 3 stars reviews. Customer service is good, place is clean. Lots of drinks options. Bathrooms are very clean and look nice .
The only thing is that the food was just ok... very bland for my taste. -

Ridiculous. Wort customer service imaginable, consistently rude employees who act as though you're physically hurting them for making them do their job. Don't attempt to add or substitute anything not specifically called out on their menu. You will be charged extra. A little extra rice? Nope. Extra cheese? Sorry.
That being said the food tasted very good... Until I went to get a refill and heard a sizable RAT moving around their vents. RATS RATS RATS!!!! Don't come here if you care about your health and dignity. -

I was traveling when I stopped here and I had been snacking all day with no real meal, so this review may be a little hunger bias.
Most Mexican places I've patronized, although the food was good, have been somewhat dark and gloomy. Cafe Rio has a very bright and welcoming dining area. As you approach the food prep area you pass through amusement park rails to help control the line. Are maybe they are sending a subliminal message that your taste buds are about to embark on a rollercoaster ride of flavor.
As you make your way to the head of the line, there's a giant menu for you to look over before stepping up to the prep area sneeze guard. I ordered the quesadilla and I was torn between the chicken and the sweet pork so I asked, "Can I have both." When she answered, "Yes," I knew I was in for a wild ride. She put the meat on the tortilla, covered it with Mexican cheese and tossed it on the grill. She asked what I wanted on the side and I began selecting sides. Afterwards, she folded my quesadilla in half, a quick slice and dice, then it was on to the register. The person at the register hands you a cup for your drink, because it's included, then you pay. Most individual meals are between $10 and $15.
After you pay you go to get your drink. You would think coke, pepsi, tea, nah. They have Mexican drinks: Horchata, Southwest Limeade, and Mint Limeade (I don't know if this is Mexican but it's good). They have other drinks also. They also have free refills if you want to try more than one, which I highly recommend.
The best way for me to describe it is a fusion of culinary concepts. Cafe Rio has the portability of Taco Bell. Meaning you can come in, grab something to go and eat it in your car with no issues. It has the flavors of traditional Mexican food. The flavors are amazing; you know when you get a Mexican dish and the main entree is the only aspect that has flavor. Not at Cafe Rio. Here everything has a very unique and complementary taste. The best part of the entire operation is the Subway like assembly line. You feel mentally closer to your dish because you helped create it and witnessed it coming to life. I don't know but one thing I do know... I will return to Café Rio.
Side note: take some of the "Mexican grape juice" (I don't know the real name of it) home and mix it with rum. Very good. -

My first time ordering here. We got the steak nachos..nice tender big strips of steak. Ordered through postmates order was perfect. Will order again. Next time I will take a pic. It's in my belly now. But still have half. Large portions.

Half of my guacamole feel out of my container back into the main metal one that the employees keep it in and when I pointed it out to the male employee he said " I gave you an extra scoop so don't worry about it "! I was charged $5.95 for this and I was refused a refund when I said I didn't want it.
